  Parousia applied to the first coming of Christ?

  i was checking all the bible verses that had the greek word parousia, translated as presence by the wt, when i came across a text (2 peter 1:16-17) where this word seems to be applied to the first coming of christ.

  i showed this to my friend ginosko, but he thinks differently.

  the wt applies this verses to christs transfiguration.

  hi caballo /; ifn you think about it sounds like peter talking about the holy sprit you know past present and future the sprit of jehovah, jesus, has to be the holy sprit, could it be a trinty ?? maybe?? by the way my wife is from marganga san miguel , 7ma etapa it's time for you to help and expose the wt as a false christ in peru.. you can help so many with your knowledge...john

  hope everyone's weekend is going well so far.

  anyway, i just had two brothers show up at my door, and i was planning to bring up an issue they couldn't solve and befuddle and confuse them.

  but, wouldn't ya know it, i couldn't just blurt out, "how do you explain the 1914 teaching?

  1914 is a good one but can be hard, as the jw's don't really understand it , and the amount of studing - exposing the wt as false on this most jw's will not last past the first study... 1914 is good to use on a family member over a long period of time.. just keep hitting them with more and more facts over the years ... a fast and easy one is to go to any awake till oct 1995 on page 4 were it says the creators promise of a new world order in the life of the generation of one alive in 1914.. .there is much in this one line.. first it is the creators promise?? and the wt printed it... so now it has turned out to be FALSE... you can use 100's of verses to make the jw's look like fools about this false prophecy... i like to tell my dad if i would have became a jw 30 years ago like he wanted i would preached to 1000's a false prophecy ...was this true worship pleasing to jehovah??? lol please let me here that wt pitch about the generation of 1914 again, boy you were so convincing the way you would use the bible to show this 1914 gen. would be the last!!!! WHEN THEY SAY new light i go right back to ..but it was the creators promise. so now you are telling me that god lies ..or man lies... you can have a lot of fun with this and help some open their eyes.... good luck john

  kh blow out today

  ok so i'm driving my truck at 169st and college ave bx this morning at 9:30 am ... what luck i have about 30 + wtites going into the fs.. i stop and talk to a group of sisters , and get them to commit that the wt mag is the word of god etc.

  then i ask for a mag ,and how much ... you know the line to pay for the printing and so on.. at this point i give 10 cents and ask for 3 cents change... and get it lol... as this is a all black cong.. i go into all the racist that was taught by the wt ... the girls are getting upset... i let them know the wt said that if they pray hard enough they could become white... a couple of the bro's came over ,one was intersted in what i said ,,i slipped him my phone # he said he would call...after the sisters ran away the leader of this pack saw me talking to this bro and chased him off... then i started with him telling the kids he was with that by following the elder he was leading them to death.

  that he should put a millstone around his neck and jump into the hudson river for stumbling the childeren what these false prophecies... he asked me to give him a date of false prophecy...ho ho i threw about 20 at him and asked him which one he wanted to study.. as we are at the hall now lets check out the library ... well his head started spinning... i said come on you are calling me a liar in front of your cong.. now back it up... all the while i'm telling the kids the wt is satan... well i shut him up fast, he was running in and out of the hall fumbling for his keys... and i didn't let up the whole time.... i left a lot of food for thought only hope a few may open their eyes..... john

  JT; i love your reasoning on most of your posts.. but here i disagree, yes the teaqcher has rights... what seems to be lost on this is the students also have rights... i'm sure that theres more than what was printed in the news paper.. she would let the kids post drawings of a snowman but not a christmas tree,etc. i spoke to a friend who is a school teacher here in n.y. and she wasnot sure on the rules and reg's in regards to this.. i could be wrong, but the only thing i see this teacher getting is a pink slip...i think if this goes anywhere public opinion will be against her. just the publicity of this has hurt the wt. if i'm correct in the U.S. we are to accept all beliefs, this is were the jw's are at fault... i think the timing of this was a long process to dump the teacher... if nothing else lets all be happy thats million now living today "tm" have learned through newspapers,radio,tv of jw's intolerance of the worship of others....john

  A System to STOP the Preaching Work?

  as i was sitting in my living room staring at my christmas tree the other day, for some reason, my mind turned to a possible way for householders who don't want jw's to call on them to get them to stop once and for all.

  i'm not sure whether it would work or not.

  now, we know that putting oneself on the "do not call" list doesn't work, because they will continue to call at least once a year to determine whether the householder's "circumstances have changed".

  that's sounds great i like it.. ok 2 weeks ago after reading some like posts here... i found a phone # IN A WT to make estate donations...well i called and said that i have asked the jw's many times not to come to my wifes house or my brothers or sisters houses. i said my father a jw keeps sending them ..but he don't believe everything they teach... i gave the addresses and the cong. and said we would be taking legel action if they don't stop coming... the lady was perplexed and questioned me why... i told her if she knew what we know about the wt she would run out of the patterson complex now without a coat and hitch hike home without delay.... anyway she said she would foward the info to the cong and we would not get any more calls... now just waiting for the fall out from my father.. they might take him in the back room for a little interagation .... could get interresting....john

  during the thocratic school during our tuesday meetings, i dreaded hearing the bell.

  *ding* someone had run over 5 minutes and had to cut their talk short.. this part always disturbed me.

  nevermind the fact that these people worked hard to prepare their talk about something they felt was worthwhile, they have to be humiliated and cut off in front of the whole congregation.

  Best argument against a Jehovah's Witness?

  don't get me wrong, i'm not one to actively persecute jw's, i'm just wondering what you guys think is the best agrument/point to use when a pesky brother or sister just won't leave you alone.

  normally, i am willing to listen to their drivel out of respect (even though i have no respect for the wt) but there are times when i am not in the mood to hear them babble.

  i normally bring up the 1914 generation point, and it normally works.

  this is my new line ;; and it works wonders the best yet!!! i will look into a new wt and find when they call a old teaching bible truth etc.... And then i drop the bomb of the false teachings they are talking about.... then i ask the jw WAS THIS WORSHIP ACCEPTABLE TO JEHOVAH.... BUT you have to have worked them over before to make this work..... or the easy one is to say ok so jesus choose the wt in 1919 as the fds ...sounds good to me....lets study the wt mag's and books from that time to see if jesus really choose the wt then .... they never will ... at this point you busted them.... and never let them off this study,.,., only old wt's till 1919 if you stick to this point you will never be shut up..... that's a fact.....keep the pressure ON ....   ok ; here's the best news i've heard against the wt in a while.

  i'm listening to news radio today and here a grade school teacher in brooklyn , ms. addio a jw teacher would not let her students put up christmas or haunakh decorations in the class room .. now the teacher is in trouble with the board of ed.

  is it not the jw's who always bullshit householders that they respect other people rights.. this sounds like a civil rights case$$$$$$$ i know it was in todays new york daily news.. maybe someone can find it and post it here.. it would be nice if someone would foward it to that lawyer kim norris... this sounds like a winner againgt the wt... john

  funny how no one here see the violation of the students civil rights here.. if it was the other way around the wt would be all over this in court... well this is a big 1st amenment no-no and i will be the first to say this will hit the courts, and it will be bigger than the child molestion problem. it is stuff like this that will open the EYES of the public as everyone understands it. tell me what judge in the U.S. WILL SAY THE KIDS CAN'T POST THEIR DRAWINGS OF SANTA...LOL

  I see a lot here looking at this all wrong... it is the kids who have had their civil rights stepped on i see a civil rights case here...screw the teacher the principal is right . i know when i went to school we all put our drawings on the wall.... i can here the kids crying to their parents that all the other classes have their tree and drawings up BUT NOT OUR CLASS , MS. ADDIO TOLD US SANTA IS ALL BULL. ETC. who is she a ZOMBIE BITCH...TO TELL THE KIDS WHAT TO THINK...this is a big civil rights case... she should lose her job as she is mentally unstable, if the people here don't see the ramacations of this .then i feel sorry for you.... trust me this will be a hot topic in the courts... and i already know who will lose..... john
